Vanessa Kuroda,seen here taking measurements in the LADEE 10K cleanroom, is an electronics engineer supporting the Lunar Atmosphere Dust Environment Explorer (better known as LADEE) common bus spacecraft project at NASA Ames Research Center, which is set to launch in fall 2013 to orbit the moon, characterize the lunar dust environment, and create the fastest communication link ever demonstrated in space. She just recently graduated with her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California while staying active in engineering organizations and dance teams, most notably Break Through Hip Hop and the USC Fly Girls, where she had the amazing opportunity to perform as a backup dancer for the Black Eyed Peas at the Kids’ Choice Awards!
