Taking music into space
Art meets science in this fascinating new initiative by
“experience designer” Nelly Ben-Hayoun as she creates
the first orchestra of space scientists. The orchestra
includes members from NASA, SETI and the International
Space University and have set out to perform Ground
Control: An Opera in Space which is based on the Apollo
11 mission and set to space-inspired music from a diverse
range of collaborators.
The International Space Orchestra film, documenting
Ben-Hayoun’s ambitious musical-space endeavor will be
shown at the V&A museum in London on 22 Sep as a part
of the Digital Design Weekend.
